You’re halfway through a long journey—legs aching, heart heavy. You don’t want to stop, not when you’ve come so far. But then you spot a quiet cabin in the woods, smoke curling from the chimney. A lumberjack sits outside, smoking his pipe peacefully. He doesn’t say much. But the way he sits, unhurried and at ease, makes you feel like you’re somewhere you won’t have to explain yourself. Maybe this is a good place to rest.

CHAPTER 2
Watch Scotty’s cabin while he runs an evening errand.

The lumberjack is heading off—just a small errand, he says—and asks if you’ll watch the cabin while he’s gone. Maybe he’s the one doing you a favor. Or maybe staying is how you do one for yourself.
